Personalised Funeral Ceremonies in Mallorca

Every life has a story. Let’s tell it beautifully.

Funerals
Bereavement
End of Life

Funeral ceremonies that honour your loved one with warmth, dignity and meaning.

Losing someone you love is never easy. At a time when emotions run high and decisions need to be made, you deserve support that brings clarity, calm and compassion. As an experienced funeral celebrant, I work closely with families to create ceremonies that truly reflect the life of the person who has died.

Whether the ceremony is held shortly after death or as a memorial weeks or months later, it is a time to pause, remember, and honour a life in a way that feels right for you. Through conversations, storytelling, and shared memories, I’ll write and deliver a unique celebration of life – one that reflects who your loved one was and the mark they left on the world.

You don’t need to follow tradition – you just need to feel supported

In the Balearic Islands, the law states that coffins must be placed in an approved indoor venue, such as a church or crematorium. But there are no restrictions when it comes to holding a memorial ceremony and this can be held anywhere, from your home or garden to the beach, the mountains, or even at sea.

We’ll work together at your pace, taking the time to talk, look through photos and reflect on stories. Then I’ll write a ceremony for your approval, incorporating poems, readings, music, and tributes in the way that feels most meaningful to you. On the day, I’ll arrive early to greet your guests and hold the space, guiding you through the final goodbye.

Caring compassionately & creatively

For more than a decade, I have guided people through the challenges of facing the end of life or losing a loved one. I do this with grace, dignity, compassion, and love.

Families are listened to, supported, and held, and every person is treated with the utmost respect.

Whether writing someone’s life story or supporting them on their final journey, I remain calm, practical, and clear — always seeking to see the best in everyone. With me beside you, you will be heard, understood, and supported.

What families say

A massive thank you to you for the beautiful celebration of life ceremony. It was thoughtful, compassionate, calming and very reassuring.  Many of our friends from here and the UK said it was the best funeral they had been to and on a lighter note I think we are one step closer to converting Spanish funerals into ones like this. Your kindness and professionalism allowed us to focus on honouring a life so deeply loved and for that we will always be very grateful.  Thanks again Glynis, you really did him proud.

On behalf of my sisters and myself, we would like to thank you so much for all your help and support with the funeral of our Dad. It was quite a challenging and difficult time for many reasons. Without your support it could have been a lot more difficult. We found the whole process so much better than the traditional UK approach. We appreciated your explanation of the procedure and putting a name to the two young girls who had looked after Dad. Thank you once again and wish you all the best for the future.

My daughters and I were so pleased to meet Glynis and have her as my husband’s funeral celebrant some 5 years ago! It was a ceremony that we threw in our ideas and Glynis pulled it together. She also asks all the right questions to obtain the information needed to prepare for the service. It’s SO important to prepare for our funerals as it alleviates so much stress for the loved ones left behind.

Glynis has such a wonderful calming and compassionate energy for anyone in need of support and guidance.

You make such a difference to so many lives Glynis, keep on sharing that massive heart of yours.

On the saddest of days for all my family, Glynis was so kind, patient and just generally lovely. Her ceremony was well researched and delivered, with very little notice.

I recommend Glynis because not only is she a true professional in the field but also because she works with her heart and it shows in everything she does.

Thank you so much for everything you did, I am so glad you were with us. When I got home, I had a more detailed look at the beautiful booklet you made of my mother’s celebration of life. Glynis, it is really beautifully made and it is a joy to look at. And I did not notice that it was the first time you did a celebration of life on a boat.

Thanks so much Glynis.. yesterday was beautiful, we couldn’t have done it without your help.

Glynis you are amazing. We are so grateful to you helping us at such short notice. It was such a lovely time and absolutely everyone loved it.

Celebrant Funeral Ceremony FAQs

Do funerals in Mallorca really have to happen within 48 hours?

No. This is a cultural norm, not a legal requirement. With planning, you can hold the funeral several days later to allow loved ones to gather and grieve.

What does a funeral celebrant do?

A celebrant creates and delivers a personal, non-religious ceremony that reflects the life, values, and personality of the deceased. I work with families to make the funeral meaningful and respectful, whatever your beliefs.

Can we include religious elements in the ceremony?

If your loved one was religious, then I would recommend the appropriate religious representative for the funeral. If you are wishing to include some religious readings, then I have no issue with this. What I cannot do is offer any religious rituals.

How long does a ceremony last?

Most funerals and memorials are around 30–45 minutes, but this depends on the setting and your preferences.

Where can the ceremony take place?

If the body is present, it must be in an approved indoor venue. Memorials with ashes can be held anywhere meaningful – a beach, home, garden or even at sea.

Can we see the script before the day?

Yes. I’ll send you the draft script for approval so you can request any edits or additions.

Do you offer support after the funeral?

Yes – I also offer grief support, remembrance ceremonies, and grief retreats if you need continued care after the funeral.

Ready to Create a Meaningful Goodbye?
